Our boardracks are constructed of solid American Ash (“Fraxinus Spp”) hardwood. Ash is an extremely strong and durable wood that will become more beautiful with age. All our racks are individually cut, shaped/sanded, assembled, and finished by hand. NAK Boardracks unique design resembles that of a cresting wave, giving it distinct character. We differ from other companies in that we line our racks in .25-inch thick natural cork, rather than synthetic material, such as foam or rubber. Not only is the cork more appealing to the eye, it coincides with the Ash, and provides an excellent cushion for the rail of the surfboard. Nak Boardracks only protrude 8.5 inches from the wall, which allows the customer to display their surfboard in tighter, narrower spaces, such as in a hallway.
We offer both a single rack “The Solo”, and a double rack “The Tandem”. The Solo measures 7.5 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and protrudes 8.5 inches from the wall. The Tandem measures 33 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and protrudes 8.5 inches from the wall. Both boardracks are offered in a natural wood finish, and both are hand rubbed wax finishes. All racks include mounting hardware and mounting instructions. The hardware included is a high quality “ITW E-Z Anchor” 50 lb drywall anchor & stainless steel screw (no rusting). When using the “E-Z Anchor” and screw combo no power tools are necessary for mounting. However if you are mounting a total board weight heavier than 45+ pounds we do offer a heavier duty anchor and screw. Nak Boardracks Mounting Instructions
(TOOLS NEEDED: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER / LEVEL / PENCIL)
1. Space the boardracks apart on the wall about half the length of your board. Use a pencil to mark the holes onto the wall. Make sure the racks are level and equal distance from the ground.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to press the tip of the drywall anchor into the wall, where you have previously marked. Turn clockwise until seated flush (the anchors are self-drilling, no power tools are needed).
3. Place the boardracks onto the wall, lining up the anchors to the holes. Insert the screws, and turn clockwise until snug.
4. Place your board on the racks with the rail down, and the fins facing out. ENJOY!
